For great Landscape Photography, visit Rathlin Island
I highly recommend a visit to Rathlin Island and Ballycastle beach in county Antrim. The views can be stunning if you manage to get a sunny day for it. I have visited the Island twice, with my last visit including my girlfriend and a mate. The beach at Ballycastle is fantastic and a great place to spend the day with friends – remember to bring shorts if you plan on having a dip in the sea! I would also suggest you bring appropriate shoes as there is a lot of walking involved. We all managed to get really bad cuts on our feet after getting sand stuck in our shoes – that will teach us to walk through a river for a short cut!
The beautiful views of the harbour, lighthouses, landscape and cliffs were well worth it. Unfortunately it rained heavily when we were travelling back from Ratlhin Island to Ballycastle via the ferry. None of us had brought coats so we had to improvise by holding towels over our heads to keep out the rain and strong winds. All in all though, it was a fun day out and for the most part it was sunny. Next time I go back I will bring my tripod for some proper long exposure shots.
